The approach to achieve a positive effect on the world
Isoplus has anchored sustainability and responsibly-minded action deep in the corporate philosophy. This is because Isoplus is firmly convinced that economic success must go hand-in-hand with environmental responsibility and social engagement.
En route to more sustainability
The commitment to the environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles is reflected in Isoplus’s approach to achieve a positive effect on the world.
The route to more sustainable production and action is a continuous process and requires steadfast commitment. Even if the progress made is not always directly visible, initiatives and measures contribute to a larger and lasting effect. Isoplus’s commitment can be seen in specific initiatives and the implementation of plans that lead to sustainable advances.
Success often depends on the utilisation of cross-company synergies through close cooperation. Joint efforts can achieve unique results, particularly in the reduction of CO₂ emissions and meeting ambitious targets.
Most of the emissions come from areas that lie outside Isoplus’s direct control. The company nonetheless undertakes to set targets that cover the entire value-added chain. In this way, Isoplus wants to minimise the negative effects on the environment and climate while at the same time offering inspiration for employees, colleagues in the industry and municipalities.
Initiatives include measures to improve working conditions. In addition, social commitments are supported, such as the integration of socially disadvantaged people in the job market.
Isoplus’s ESG strategy is not merely a promise, but an ongoing obligation with which to implement their values in practice and make a significant contribution to a sustainable future.
For more efficiency and sustainability
In times of climate change and rising energy prices, the efficiency of energy networks becomes increasingly important. Pre-insulated pipe systems play a decisive role in this, particularly in local and district heat supply.
Energy efficiency
Isoplus pre-insulated pipe systems minimise heat losses and bring the energy to where it is needed. This leads to substantial energy savings, which in turn reduces operating costs for both supply companies and consumers. Together, we want to shape the future of energy supply. Let’s make the world a little bit greener – pipe for pipe, city for city.
Sustainability
Because Isoplus pre-insulated pipes minimise heat losses during the transport of hot water over long distances, less energy is needed to heat buildings. This leads to greater energy efficiency of the whole district heating system.
Reliability
Isoplus opts for the highest quality standards and innovative technologies. The pipe systems are durable and require low-maintenance, increasing the security of supply for millions of households, towns and cities and municipalities.
Flexibility
Whether in densely populated urban areas or in rural municipalities, Isoplus pipe systems are versatilely usable and are adjusted to the individual needs of customers.
Sustainability by Isoplus
The independent platform of the assessment of the sustainability performance of companies classifies this, on the basis of international standards, by using 21 environmental, social and sustainable procurement criteria.
Environmental balancing of waste quantity, electricity consumption, diesel, district heating, water and CO₂
100 percent of the electricity consumption in the Isoplus plant in Austria is covered by a hydroelectric power station on the site. Heat is supplied by a biomass firing system in a nearby sawmill.
Reuse
(Defective) pipes occurring during production are dismantled, and the steel pipes are reused. Part of the surplus PE residues from the service department is sold for recycling.
Transport optimisation
Here, for example, Isoplus opts for complete loads to minimise environmental impact. A large part of the steel deliveries is transported by rail, and the intention is to further expand this transport route.
Diverse certifications
Independent certificates, such as EcoZert from Creditreform Wirtschaftsauskunftei Austria, for sustainable action and sustainable corporate management.
Sustainable PE production with ISCC PLUS certification
The certification programme for the circular economy and the bioeconomy enables traceability along the entire delivery chain.
Isoplus’s sustainable product concept – isonext
Concept for supporting the manufacture of PE from renewable raw materials, without quality loss and in compliance with EN 253. With isonext, Isoplus combines proven and guaranteed product quality with an affirmation of sustainability and actively promotes the reduction of CO₂ emissions. With the mass balance approach, Isoplus offers a concept that supports the production of PE from ecocycle-compatible raw materials and thus makes clear the commitment to quality and environmental responsibility.
